1. Entry fee is $20.00 per pen of three birds and must accompany the official entry form. Mail to:

2. Purchase of broilers must be paid for at tag-in. All entries must pay a $35 deposit in addition to the entry fee at tag-in to defray the cost of ordering the pens of chicks.
3. All chicks will be from the same hatch date from Ideal Hatchery. The Division Superintendent will recieve the birds and contact the leaders for picking-up arrangements. Exhibitors will be notified about the cost of the hatch.(25 birds)
4. All entries at tag-in will be responisble for the cost of the pens even if they decide not to participate in the contest.

* Judging: 10 a.m. Wed, Mar 24, 2010
* Release: Wed, Mar 24, 2010 Following the judging for all entries except for the 6 pen who will stay for sale.
3. Entries are subject to the general rules.
4. Under Houston rules, a "pen" is composed of three birds, off of one sex commercial breeds only.
5. There is no upper weight limit.
6. Each exhibitor is to bring small cups or containers to feed and water the birds.
7. First through third place females and males will sell in the live auction Saturday, March 27, 2010 for a total of 6 pens. Ist place female and 1st place male will compete for Overall Grand Champion. If the exhibitor of the Grand Champion also has the other first place pen, they must remove that pen form Overall Reserve Grand Champion selection. The 2nd place pen will take its place.
8. Only one bird needs to be taken into the sale ring for the sale.
9. Exhibitors agree to dress and deliver the three birds to the buyer if it is the desire of the buyer. Exhibitor will ask the buyer to immediately following the purchase.
10. Broiler exhibitors are expected to clean their exhibit area before leaving the fair. Cages and barrels not needed for the sale will be returned to the storage barn. The area will be swept clean if necessary.
